AussieGRASS is an operational system run by Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Water. Queensland government scientists have conducted research into the science and management of rangelands for over a decade. The project is possible through the support of NSW Department of Agriculture, NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources, SA Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation, WA Department of Agriculture, and Queensland Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries. There is an active program of research and development to provide ongoing improvements and meet new challenges for productive and sustainable management of Australia's natural resources and grazing lands.

AussieGRASS was developed on a collaborative basis between the following state agencies:

  • Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Water;

  • Queensland Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries;

  • New South Wales Department of Agriculture.

  • New South Wales Department of Land and Water Conservation.

  • Department of Agriculture, Western Australia;

  • Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation, South Australia;

  • Department of Business Industry and Resource Development, Northern Territory.

The development of AussieGRASS was supported by:

  • Land and Water Resources Research and Development Corporation (LWRRDC) ;

  • Land and Water Australia (LWA); and

  • Agriculture Fisheries and Forests - Australia and Australia's rural R&D corporations under the Climate Variability in Agriculture Programme (CVAP).
