[QueenslandDroughtReport]

The Queensland Government currently provides assistance to primary producers affected by severe drought. Drought is recognised as a severe event that occurs on a one in ten to fifteen year frequency. Information regarding drought declarations can be obtained from your local DPI&F Biosecurity Inspector.
The Rural Risk Strategies Unit of the DPI&F is responsible for payment of drought freight subsides, collating drought situation reports, processing recommendations for Shire/Area drought declarations, developing applications for Exceptional Circumstances assistance from the Federal Government and advising the Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries on seasonal conditions within the State.

The Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries website has a feature called 'Drought information and assistance' which includes drought related information and contact details for DPI&F staff concerned with drought.
The Department of Natural Resources and Water produces a series of 'Fact Sheets', some of these are concerned with drought.

National Agricultural Monitoring System (NAMS)
National Agricultural Monitoring System (NAMS) link The National Agricultural Monitoring System (NAMS) provides current and historical climate, production, pasture and commodity information for agricultural industries at the national, state and regional scales, in user-friendly graphs and maps. NAMS is primarily designed to streamline Exceptional Circumstances drought assistance applications and assessments. NAMS can be accessed at www.nams.gov.au. This web-based tool is funded by the Australian, State and Territory governments and contains modelled analyses provided by Queensland Departments of Natural Resources & Water and Primary Industries & Fisheries.
