This website has various types of navigation you can use to find your way through the site. This is highlighted in the diagram below, followed by text descriptions of each of the areas.
The first level of navigation is the utility navigation at the top of each page.
From here you can link to:
- Contact us—information for contacting the department
- Help—tips on using this website. You are here.
- Search—enter keywords in the box to search for information on this website.
The next level of navigation is the primary navigation directly under the horizontal image banner on each page.
Selecting links in the primary navigation will take you to a page with further information.
In sections of the site that include a lot of information, you will find secondary navigation in the left-hand column of the page. This navigation is specific to each section on the site.
The breadcrumb navigation is directly under the primary navigation, with the sections separated by arrows. Its purpose is to show you the context in the site of the page you are on. If necessary, you can use the breadcrumb to retrace your steps, or to link to any page along the path.
From the footer you can link to our legal notices and to the Queensland Government website which provides access to Queensland Government information and services online.
The footer also contains a site map of the site.
Logical tab order
This website has a logical tab order for navigating without a mouse. Use the tab key on your keyboard to move to the next link or field. Use shift-tab to move backwards, and the enter key to follow links and submit forms. Most browsers support these functions.
